Perspective: Macro Photography
How framing and scale influence the way we interpret the world around us — each close-up paired with a wider view of the same subject.
Growing up, I spent a lot of time outdoors with family and with my father having a passion for photography himself, I picked up a camera at a pretty young age, shooting whatever caught my eye. I love natural, vibrant colors and interesting patterns and textures in photography. With this interest in continuing my photography of the natural world in this stage in my life, I wanted to focus on the concept of perspective and the ways in which framing, angles, texture, and patterns all have an impact on the message that you read when you view the image.
Perspective explores how framing and scale influence the way we interpret the world around us. Through macro photography, the series isolates textures, patterns, and details found in nature, encouraging viewers to engage with familiar subjects from an unfamiliar point of view.
Each image pair presents a close-up abstraction alongside a wider view of the same subject, revealing how context shapes perception. By obscuring scale and emphasizing color, texture, and form, the photographs invite curiosity and challenge assumptions about what is being observed.
